I stopped finasteride after several years on it. What alternatives should I consider?

I started on finasteride in 2008. After one year on it, my hair became so thick, the result was just great. I experienced tremendous regrowth, except in the temples of course. I was about a NW2.5 and remained that way except the hair was so thick. I did a few hair transplant procedures to get it back to NW1.5.

I put up with the side effects (facial bloating, midsection bloating, very poor sleep, anxiety) for several years because the result was so good, and I also took dutasteride along the way, but in 2014 I stopped, I couldn't take it.

My hair of course went back to thinning. I'm looking for something other than finasteride to help maintain until a new drug comes out. If I can get regrowth again of course that would be amazing.

What are the options currently? Is there any treatment that doesn't block DHT and has a different mechanism of action instead?

I heard about RU, CB, and seti. Are they legit? What is their mechanism of action?

Thanks!

PS: I tried minoxidil several years ago, didn't work and gave me sides, so that's not an option.

Out of Ru, cb and seti. I can only comment on RU. It works, pretty well. It can cause side effects at higher doses. But if you go easy on it I have no side effects.
I've also used spironolactone/revivogen combo which didn't give me any sides at all. Which is better than nothing but RU works better.
Oh and I've never lasted longer than a few short weeks on finasteride anytime I tried it gives me awful sides.

What are the side effects of RU? How does it work, is it a DHT blocker?

I see RU mentioned quite a lot, but with it not being FDA approved I wouldn't risk it, unless you want to be part of the medical trial.
