Greetings,

I'm in my late 40's and have been experiencing more hair loss that began in my 20's. It was stable for quite some time but about 8 months ago I noticed my hair was thinning at the right side of my hairline and at the crown. I decided to try Rogaine out to see if I could at least stop the shedding and maybe even thicken the hair. I do have a bald spot at the back of my head but Im hoping to stop the creep forward.
After a couple of weeks of using Rogaine I noticed that I began shedding even more hair in front on the right side. I hope that is a good sign because it has made me pretty anxious and upset. Is this a sign it's working? I have been applying 1ml twice a day in back but just 1ml once a day at the hairline. It's so greasy that it's not practical to apply it before I leave for the day. Can I expect positive results by just using it once a day in front? I'm considering starting Propecia which I took for a few years in the late 90's. My only concern about taking that is whether I might be more susceptible to side effects since I'm a bit older now. I don't recall there being any side effects when I took it years ago.

Thanks.

I doubt that would be a problem on your hairline. I also started thinning late 40s.
Been on minoxidil 3 and a half months now with needling 2 months or so. I added essegen 6 min with Finasteride topical and so far haven't noticed any sides at all. I am definitely getting regrowth even at this early stage. Anyways look into the min with topical finasteride.

Does the shedding at the hairline mean it's working? Where is the topical finasteride available?

Not sure. Didn't shed at all. Just some regrowth around the hairline and some temple growth of fine hair. Not sure if it will turn into real hair.
Minoxidil max is the company. Some use something in India called Morr-F or something

I'll check into it, thanks. Would be great if topical Finasteride was approved here by the FDA and was effective, but without the side effects.
