Let me start of by saying I am 28 nearly 29 and I am lucky that I am nw2 going into nw3 territory at the moment. I know I have a head of hair that so many of you would kill for. For the past three years I have been here on and off hoping that some of you may convince me that I have a 'mature hairline' or maybe it was Telogen Effluvium. Well it's not it is male pattern baldness. I know my hair more than anyone and I can tell you now I am slowly receding. I am not sure how fast it will happen and I am not sure if I will recede or if I will diffuse. Does it suck? Yes it does but I know it is in my genetics and there is nothing I an do to cure it. Some of you may see my pictures and think 'man what are you moaning about' Well It's not so much moaning but more accepting. I know I am lucky that I have as much hair as I do BUT I also know what is coming.
Family history of balding:
Fathers father - nw3 and thinned crown
Farther - started at he age of 30. hard to describe exactly but I would say NW6 with diffuse all over the top. He even has a hairline that is very diffused. He never receded he just thinned majorly on top.
Mother father - receded and thinned at the age of 18 and is now nw6
mothers brother - started receding at around my age 28. he is 53 and on the norwood is a nw3 with a very thinned crown. In fact I would say in 5 years he will be very thin on top heading towards nw6
Mothers mother brothers both in their 60's. one has a nw2 and has just thinned from age and the other is nw2 and has thinned from age, Her farther remained nw1 until he passed away.
As you can see from my family I am pretty much destined to lose my hair and my temple recession gives me a hint as to which way am going but obviously we can not predict it.
At the moment I am noticing my left side of my hairline starting to creep back. This side has been slower but there is also a patch the is diffusing. It has definitely gone back because now when I brush my hair to the side it is easier to spot the patch. It has also diffused more.
I's like to put up a timeline with pictures of my receding progress but I want to know if anyone is interested in seeing this? I will add that I become very overweight at one point and I am not sure if that changed how my hairline looked. It was definitely thicker when I was overweight that's for sure.
