I am an 18 year male and I seem to have been balding since I was 15. I began to notice that my hairline was particularly high on my head around 15 but just thought it was natural. Throughout the years I've noticed my temples started to recede, especially in the past year.
I don't have any problems with the crown area of my head, it's mainly just my hairline. I also notice that my hair seems to fall out throughout the day, especially when I wash my hair.
When I went to my doctor about this, he had my blood checked and everything was normal. He told me that he thinks everything is fine with me, that I have such a thick head of hair so any hair strands that fall out are quickly replaced.
I'm sure I have male pattern baldness because my hairline starts about 3 inches up on my forehead from where my eyebrows begin and they have receded slightly. The quality of my hair seems to be getting worse each month and I'm not sure what to do anymore.
I've been thinking about taking propecia but I'm not sure if I should because I read that you have to take it for the rest of your life to maintain your hair and it has some side effects. What would you guys suggest that I do to save my hairline. Sorry for the long post and thank you for your help.
