19 and a half years old. My father is bald, as is my mothers father. Had been using regaine solution once daily until a month ago, when I switched to regaine foam twice daily (simply because it is easier to apply). This was enough to maintain most of my hairline.
However, recently I feel that my balding has accelerated. Regaine alone isn't hacking it anymore and I feel I need to add something to my regime.
I came close to buying some Proscar. However, my father didn't stop developing until he was 21. I still look young for my age - I can't grow much of a beard and I have very little hair on my chest or back. I'm not keen on taking finasteride orally for the time being because I want to allow my body to see out puberty and develop fully.
The issue is that my hairloss accelerates as my body develops. So either I wait until I am fully grown and able to grow a fine beard before taking finasteride, by which time my hairloss will be severe, or I nip the balding in the bud now but risk being a man in a boys body in future years.
I do feel that something needs to be added to my regime because the effect of hairloss is now > the effect of regaine.
My questions...
a) Does anyone have an opinion on the Proscar dilemma?
b) Is there anything I could supplement or replace regaine with to deter hairloss more effectively? I have heard of solutions that have a higher % of minoxidil, as well as those that contain a tiny amount of finasteride.

I was considering adding a shampoo - Nizoral perhaps? Or Polaris NR-02 if it is available?

Or even regenepure? Was not aware of the array of shampoo's available.

Would appreciate some opinions on this, particularly the proscar issue.
