Hello guys, I am on minoxidil treatment for the last 5 years with excellent results (full recovery for a couple of years slow declining results after the "peak" but i'm still above baseline) but i have to stop using it for approx 20 days because i am joinning the army, and i'm not allowed to use it during the training period.

Do you think that i would experience one of these "massive" sheds later? Or the break is not that big? Any similar experiences are welcome. How long is the space that i can take a break from rogaine with minimal negative effect on hairgrowth?

thanks

you should be FINE

it took me 3 months!!

if you have time between now and then maybe miss and day here and there to help a more gradual process though

nothing to worry about mate...

Colin, you mean that you stopped for 3 months and your gains didn't go downhill, or it took you 3 months to notice hairloss, so 20 days is too early to make a difference? :dunno: Did you continued its use after the break?

Anyone else who had a 15days to a month break from minoxidil treatment but then got back on it? Share your stories please... :)

thanks

i didn't have any noticable gains so i gave it up (After being on it a few years)

a bad shed came 3 months later. i went back on it and regained that again.

3 weeks shouldn't be a big deal going by that.

Three weeks or so and you may experience just the most of minimal loss, but probably not even noticeable. In general, from all that I have read over the years from people taking and quitting minoxidil, it usually does take months for the those gains to begin shedding away.

I think if you use any strength stronger than 5% the hair will fall out sooner and be less stable. But 5% and lower 20 days shouldn't be a problem.
