With my hair is it’s current state, I find it more then a challenge motivating myself.

For example, when I’m lifting hand weights, I’m battling more then the weight of the actual weight itself. Going through my mind are loads of negatives, that makes the task much harder. I just want to put them down half way through repetitions.

If I knew there was a solution to at least give me 'some' reward for the religious and exhausting use I have given these products for over 2 years, I would feel somewhat alive again.

But considering, I've received nothing that would be classed as satisfactory results, it makes things 100 times worse.

An hair transplant seems to be 90% of the success, with treatments the remaining 10% - in order to see cosmetic results. These ‘mediocre at best’ treatments are nothing but maintenance tools. An hair transplant is the only thing, if done correctly that will work. I think I’ve hid behind thinking these treatments will do the trick for long enough now.

at best maintenance tools?

For f***'s sake - go to the doctor and get some anti-depressants.

I'm not a doctor but it is so blantantly obvious you are suffering with depression which is related to your hairloss.

I also imagine you have some underlying sociopathic issues which you may want to see a counsellor or a psychiatrist about.

Maybe even hypnotherapy will help you regain some confidence.

Once again - have a look at my signature man - it's true.

Gunner, your hair isn't even that bad anyway. If I shaved my head I'd have the same recession as you... You're taking it badly when you don't need to be. You almost sound like you've gone completely bald already, which you obviously havent. Head shaving is commonly the last resort of the NW7, so why not just grow your hair out a bit? It might do you good to see some hair on your head.... get a thatch job or something. I reckon you'll be surprised at how good your hair can look, all things told.

dude, for someone in your situation, there seems to be only one option. You probably won't go see a psychologist i'm guessing, because as you said, you dont' have much money. So here's what you seriously need to do, for some people its a bit risky, but for you and your situation, honestly its worth the little risk. Get a job first off. suck it up and get something that pays decently, even if you hate it. Save up for a few months. then, wait for a long weekend, and go get a damn hair transplant. as much as you afford by making monthly payments. Get your spirits up. Once your confidence returns, go out there and get some *** and a job you like, and fill in the spots as you go through the next ten years with some FUE here and there. Then, as fate will probably have it, HM will be out by then. Then you can just fill it in permanently, end of story. There. Just do it man, i wouldn't say this approach is for everyone, but you're in a hole that you obviously can't get out of from any advice here or otherwise.

that's my advice, take it or leave it. this site has nothing to offer you anymore. Only a surgeon or a psychologist does.

gunner, male pattern baldness and Telogen Effluvium can co-exist. i'm in the same situation as you (i.e. the obsessive thoughts and the diffuseness). i'd suggest getting some therapy or getting on an anti-depressant/anxiolytic.

Gunner mate, I can tell that Neil here is talking from the gut. Please don't let your depression mess up your life! I was on Effexor for three years and, although I'm off of it now, it served it's purpose for those three years. IMO.

Eeesh! Do you really think that's what Gunner needs to hear right now? Hey dude, there's a time to talk and a time to shut your trap. Gunner didn't need that.

This is a support board, or do I need to remind you of that?
