Before you read this, I made a thread here about weeks ago: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/threads/help-am-i-receding-or-just-a-large-head.106815/

But now I think I really am going bald, and I want to cry, I really do, I already have such a low self-image.

So as you can see in the previous thread I thought I had just a large forehead, and I wanted a hairstyle that doesn't show it as much, so I was growing the top of my hair out, and got a fade on the back and sides.

The top just seems to be really thin, although I've never really had thick hair.

The left side of my hair has always been ridiculously thin.

Tried to take a pic of crown but it's hard to. (Keep in mind my hair has been unstyled all day in both pics)

My dad has a pretty full head of hair, his father is definitely balding but has hair, my uncle lost his hair about 23, and he shaved it all off. My mother has two brother's and neither of them are showing signs of balding, my mother's father is thin but still has a fair amount of hair.

I really need your advice guys.

EDIT:

About a week a go I just brushed through my hair in a rough manner in the sink (was later on the day before I was gonna sleep, excuse the toothpaste too!)

What is there to deny? Seems like your hairline is evidently thinning, although I recommend taking a better quality picture to get more of a definitive assessment. Your crown still looks good man so be optimistic about that.

You pretty much have to make a decision at this point. Do you wanna keep your hair through proven treatments or are you willing to let it go for good?

With the treatments we have nowadays maintaining your level of hair is completely doable, regrowth is few and far between so I do recommend coming to a conclusion asap.

Diffused thinning. Go see a derm
I did a few months ago she said it might be Telogen Effluvium but she didn't seem like she was too sure about anything. with the treatments currently available do you think I could possibly thicken up again? Do things like irestore work or am I better off with medications such as propecia?

Propecia might thicken it, depends on how old and how aggressive it is. Nothing else works besides propecia and minoxidil

I never understood this... when you looked at those pictures did you think they were most representative of what's going on? Or do you think they're really shitty quality and borderline impossible to give an accurate opinion on?

You're 19 and already have signs of thinning so I'd say either Telogen Effluvium or Diffuse Pattern Alopecia.

If it is diffuse alopecia, then upcoming treatments may be able to prevent your life from becoming a nightmare.

Minoxidil and/or finasteride are pretty much the only options you have right now.

Your hair is wet in those last pics so I'm gonna assume you can still get away with a full looking head of hair when dry. Just don't jump into any pools for now.

Time to board the hope train!

yeah slight erosion of the hairline in the corners and probable thinning around the front too. Crown looks fine. Will need far better pics than the ones provided should you want us to comment on the overall state of your hair. Hopefully you are not diffusing on top.

Okay before I start, if you're worried about the same thing as me, make your own thread? Makes it extremely frustrating having to find replies that are FOR ME..

Some of you say I am balding, other's not??

Yeah my crown feels fine, wasn't worried about that anyway.

Okay, so what are my options? Finastride? Is that what I want?

I have some questions about general medication (not just finastride)..

Other than the possible side effects, is it going to affect my daily routine or is it just take it once every day or so and that's it.

Is it possible to keep the medication a secret?

What if I stop taking it? What will happen?

Where do I even get it? I'm in the UK and I don't have my own dermatologist, so I do I just go see my GP?
