I defientley think stress and hair loss are related.

I am not denying the fact I am going bald but I defientley think it has sped it up the reasons I think this is because.

Age 16 to 18.5: My Grandfather started losing hair around this time and this was probably one of my most stress free years of my life. My long hair looked awesome.

Age 18.8 to 20: Some minor recession but unless you looked hard you would find it, I contribute the beginning of it due to my diet/exercise regimen/heartache/ working 40 plus hours a week along with school.

Age 20 to 21: The summer of 2007, my hair went to sh*t because I was stressing about going off to a real university (did the first two years at a junior college because it was cheaper and they were my basics). I stopped drinking heavily in the summer of '07 just because I didn't like myself when I was drunk. Then when I got to the University, I exercised vigorously but my diet was more like a starving diet (barely any protein, lots of fruits/veggies, and stupidly small portions) I didn't handle my stress right but even then my major is a stress-worthy one (Finance). When I cut my long hair off I realize how much worse it had gotten so I freaked out resulting now this week my hair has diffused a shitload thanks to propecia and my tension/stress along with my summer classes.

I am luckily still a NW2 but for how long? I don't know, so I think I am defientley going to start dealing with my stress more healthy as I still run/muscle toning exercises three times a week and eating heathy meals that are a good serving and not a starving one.

Wish me luck, I know it is not an overnight thing but who knows in six months my hair while it might not grow back may look even 10 times fuller than it does now.

Join the club. I'm older than you, but I am in a similar situation.

I do think stress, bad diet, etc, has participated in my hair loss as well. I went through some of my old pictures, and I can see that my hair receded much more after I got stressed. Also, when I am stressed I don't eat.

Some people in this forum claim that diet and stress are not related to hair loss, but you need nutrients to feed your follicles. Almost everyone here is on some sort of supplement, so diet is important.

Healthy diet and stress free life style will not bring your hair back, but it might slow future hair loss down a bit.

I think anorexia is beneficial for hair growth so not eating is not reason to become bald.

stress triggers it earlier i reckon. happened to me and so many others on this board, stressful events instigate it. i had slow slow slow didnt even notice recession around 20, barely visible, that came at such a long slow rate that if it continued i'd prolly be where i am now at mabye 30 rather than 22.... norwood 2ish alot later in my life. thats my theory anyway.

Oh I never said I expected the hair I loss to grow back. I figure if I try to reduce my stress it would/might improve the health of the hair that wasn't terminal yet and possibly slow the recession. I have a hard time not believing it wouldn't hurt to try.

IBM what are you smoking? Anorexia and or bulimia = hair loss.

- Realizing right now I am not in school and even though I am afraid of failing this class I am in right now, it won't happen unless I make below a 50% on the final.
- Deep breaths counting backwards from 10
-Thinking of when I was in Hawaii
-Tensing up my muscles for 10 seconds and then stop

Well, stress management is a bit more than that. Yours problems are short term.

if i can spare an hour, i prefer:
-walking
-jogging
-cooking
-maybe cycling on sunday

My walk usually involves going to a cafe and reading the newspapers. This is the best part of my day. I walk 30 mins or so, then I have a coffee and read interesting articles.

Stress causes hair loss? Then how should I relax? Jerk off....oh wait, that apparently causes hair loss too. Ok, work out.... but that will raise testosterone and only create more dht, only accelerating my hair loss, sh*t. How's about twisting up a fatty and just saying "f*** it", aaaaaaahhhhhhh that works, feeling more relaxed already.
