I Can't Tell If This Is A Maturing Hairline Or Not

Hi,

I have always had a very high hairline/forehead and especially so at the temples. Ever since I was a kid I have had extremely receded hairline at the temples. I have just recently had my hair cut shorter than ever before (I've always had a long hairstyle until now) and have become conscious about my short fringe. I'm unsure whether my hair has receded at all or if it's a mature hairline etc. Just curious on opinions hair, does this look like a receding hairline? Also, is there a professional that can do some kind of test and unbiasedly tell me whether or not this the case or not?

Some more things:
  • No difference in hair thickness at all for the front/temples and the top/side of the head hair
  • Minimal/unnoticeable hair fall
  • 21 years of age
  • Only one grandparent with balding as far as I'm aware
  • As covered, always had very bare temples
  • No 'small hairs' at hairline
  • Not noticeably thin at all usually (my hair has just been thinned at my haircut)
Thanks guys.

Also apologies about blocking out my face!

It could be the start, but guess that you are okay for now, considering that your hairline was always higher at the temples. You can go to a dermatologist to be sure or keep checking it yourself every now and then:)

If it looked that pronounced as a child, then I’d say no. If you had a “regular” hairline as a child, I’d say definitely. It wouldn’t hurt to get on finasteride either way.
