If I'm taking to someone, particularly a girl, the second she/he takes a quick glance at my hair/hairline, I just look away fast. Sometimes I even go red. It's so emberressing and obvious. I then suddenly feel like it's all just laid out on the table. She knows it. I know it- I have receding hairline. These experiences have resulted in me finding it very hard to look people in the eye. I just feel so much safer when I can't see them analysing my face and hair like all humans seem to do. Anyone know where I'm coming from with this? Or is this just my own paranoia?

I'm sure this is common, so its not your own paranoia. But it is paranoia. People may look, and see that youre balding, but they're not nessisarily thinking what you're afraid they are. Acting ashamed is really the only reason to be ashamed. If you act confident and strong, they wont think that much of it, if at all.

Your hair doesnt look bad, its just the momentum of loss thats a concern.

yep, its like the first thing i look at people the most. Eyes then the "haiR" , its normal, what you making yourself is worse infront of the person he/she might think why the hell his emberrased but if you are sure of yourself when you are talking to the person i dont think especially the girls know you are losing it.

Suffered from the same problem until I was about 30. The older you
get the easier it is.

But it still sucks no matter how old you get.

Jude: I think the best way to deal with people checking out your hairline is to pretend as if their not and just continue on with the conversation. By getting flustered and looking away your just going to draw more attention to your hair.

If, during a conversation, someone keeps on checking out your hairline take out a pre-prepared photo of it and offer it (with a sarcastic comment) to the insensitive git you're talking to - then they can look at your face whilst you're talking and study your hairline at their leisure.

This is just us getting paranoid. A lot of people have trouble looking into someone's eyes when they're talking to them. Just because they glance up doesn't mean they're checking out your hairline...Maybe they have their own insecurities....It's really amazing how much our hairloss consumes us.

I agree, you're hairline is fine. I'd give my left nut for that hair. My hairline hasn't changed since i was 10. It's the hole just above the hairline I'm about to do something about. Just waiting for the Proscar and minoxidil in the mail. Wish me luck.

Good luck, bud!
You think my hairline is fine? Thanks but if you look closely but those temples (particularly the right one) are on thin ice. "Thin" being the operative word. I'm just preying they'll not diminish any time soon. Rogaine definitely delaying the progression. But it's only a matter of time. Come on Dr Gho! Get your *** into gear! We're dyin here!
