Hi, I write first time because now I am very down :-(

I have been losing my hair for 6 months. In December I perceived that my hair in temples got thinner and during a month I got two bald temples. Within a week my fall from 7 per each shower to hundreds. It was probably the result of using minoxidil 5% because I started using it immediatelly but only on bald spots, never on hair. So till today I was very patient. I knew I have to wait at least 4 month to see at least small changes in my hairline. But now after 6 months I am very dissapointed.

I have been using minoxidil for 6 months, plus green tea extract together with aloes and DMSO and alcohol mixture. Plus retin A. I use it on every day without any missings.

Results were none. It was ok because my temples didn`t get bigger. But now after 6 months my temples are larger and it changed within 1,5 month. I see a spots where I can see my skin through the hair. At the beginning I thought that maybe they are new hair but not :-(

I have to pointed out that in my family there is no balding people. I started using minoxidil right after first marks so I am like perfect user for sucess with minoxidil.

I am VERY dissapointed and today I decided that if nothing will happen positive during next month I will give up. Many people have good results with minoxidil (even tiny resultys) and I have nothing. I was telling to myself, ok U have no results but U don`t have recedings. But now after my hair dissapear again I am in big hell. I want to cry, why me?

(I tried to use finasteride but I got first signs of gino and had to stop it after 3 months. It was at the beginning. Luckily for me, any signs of gino stopped).

I have a question, did any of us had no results in the first 6 months and then saw first signs of regrowth by minoxidil?

I wish everyone a happy day.

He said he tried propecia but had to discontinue due to gyno. Perhaps you can lower the dosage. This seems to work for some people experiencing gyno from finasteride.

If you used finasteride for thre months perhaps that triggered a shed and you didn't stay on it long enough for the new hairs to come back strong. I don't know if this is true but in my observations all my hairs have a very consistent thickness except for some tapering at the ends ( root and tip if there is one). Since it is natural for a hair to taper as it enters catagen this leads me to beleive that any thinning of the hair shaft occurs while it is in telogen. SO your discontinuing of finasteride may have allowed all the shed hairs to be effected by DHT and not come back thick enough.

However 6 months is not enough time. I have been on finasteride+min for 2 months and went through a rather bad shed that I think/hope is ending. MY density has suffered somewhat. Now the shedding was some sort of Telogen Effluvium induced by the treatment. Most of the shed hairs looked like they were in early telogen so there may be up to 3 months before those follicles start to grow again and another three months after that until those hairs are 1.5 inches long and cosmetically important.

When in this time period were you using finasteride? Also how long did the excessive shedding last?

I KNOW you're kidding, but I need to hear you say you're kidding (because Tom Cruise has no hairloss). Please.

for the love of everything thats good..please tell us youre kidding!! After seeing some photos on this site..you never know man. I see people post pics and then talkng about how bad it looks but they have a great head of hair (socks.) The famous "im a Norwood 1.5 with no hisory of balding in my family so im starting rogaine" postsmake me cringe. Give me some of that man!!!

Perhaps you should try a topical antiandrogen along with the minoxidil. Try spironolactone or fluridil. Or maybe try finasteride again at a lower dose.

global,
are you using dr.lee's spironolactone 5%?
does it smell really bad (although it is advertised as odourless)?
