I was referred to a derm last month, and after going to him, he simply looked at my hair, did a pull test on my crown, and said "nope, you look fine, i see no need to worry, you arnt balding".

I then asked "well, what about my recceeding hair line? I have naturally oily skin and i wake up with an oily scalp" and he just said "Yea, thats common for all of us, ha ha, just a normal aging... ...now if you wanted, we could put you on something called Propreca, but i don't think you need it"

At this point, feeling like i knew more on the topic than him, i asked if Nizoral could potentially help lower my sebum production" and he repleid with "Nizoral? havent heard of it".

I live in vancouver, canada.. how would i go about finding Derm that has a very good, current backgorund in hair loss?

This is so common sadly. I live near a "renown" derm. and on my visit after he handed me papers from the 80's I knew this was gonna be a waste.

He spoke the same about propecia and then tried to sell me he own formulated minoxidil. I asked him about the shedding period and he said "shedding, why would you shed" .....

Your better off on your own
