How often should i take Dutasteride?

Hello guys!

I will start Duta.
How often should i take it in a week?
Is every second day enough?
Should i use Finasterid the other days?
Or only the dutasteride every second day?

I know dutasteride is strong.
But i think finasteride is not good enough for my kind of hairloss..
I'm diffus thinner.
Im 19 in a few days..

Doesn't really matter. The more often you take it, the more DHT is inhibited. You can take .5mg daily, that is what is used in the comparison studies with finasteride and is what I take as well. Do not take finasteride anymore, there is no point if you are taking dutasteride.

As mentioned by zzzzz, there are no additional benefits gained by taking finasteride if you are already taking dutasteride. The only reason why a person may wish to take both is if they are worried their dutasteride may be fake, in which case they would still have effective DHT inhibition from the finasteride.

Taking dutasteride at 0.5mg every other day will inhibit about 95% of DHT from the 5AR type 2 enzyme, and about 19% of DHT from the type 1 enzyme. Taking 0.5mg daily will inhibit about 99% and 50% of DHT from the type 2 and type 1 enzymes, respectively. Finasteride, as you may know, inhibits only DHT from the type 2 enzyme, and at about 85-90%.

Like you, I also plan on starting dutasteride soon. I intend to start on 0.5mg dutasteride every other day. If I don't experience side effects from this dosage, I will increase it to 0.5mg taken twice in each three day period (equating to a daily dose of 0.33mg). I estimate that the rate of DHT inhibition from this dosage will be 96% of 5AR2 DHT, and 25-30% of 5AR1 DHT. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable taking dutasteride 0.5mg every day, knowing that approximately 50% of my 5AR1 DHT (present in the brain) is being inhibited. Taking dutasteride every day is of course slightly more effective than these lower doses, but this comes at a significantly greater cost.
