How often do you take dutasteride?

Hey guys I have to talk with my doctor tomorrow about getting finasteride but it sounds like he doesn't want to give me a script for the 5mg so I want to switch and see if I can get .5 of dutasteride instead. Is it correct that dutasteride is only taken once a week? I also heard that dutasteride helped people when finasteride was doing nothing but making them shed constantly.

I believe dutasteride is actually a lot harder to get a script for from your doctor. I could be mistaken. Just get the 1mg, if you have a costco near by its probably the next cheapest to the 5mg. I believe it was $24-25 for a 3 month supply.

bro start with finasteride and take .5 a day man when finasteride stops losing its effectiveness in 5 - 10 years then consider dutasteride, this way will preserve ur hair for longer

if your Doctor didn't want to give you 5mg finasteride he almost certainly wont give you dutasteride. But you can take it anywhere from once every couple days to daily, or even multiple per day. I take it daily

Ok I am reading conflicting information. Does finasteride lose it effectiveness or is it simply that the hairloss becomes more aggressive? A few people pointed out to me that finasteride does not become less effective over time.
