Hey i was just wondering how does minoxidil actually stimulate regrowth..i know that propecia inhibits DHT internally and this only causes little regrowth. Does minoxidil just do the same thing then why is there more regrowth?

As far as i know it is NOT a life long commitment like minoxidil/finasteride. nizoral promotes a healthy scalp which is essential for any other hairloss-prevention products to work. It does not work like finasteride/min by promoting growth/inhibitng DHT, but merely makes sure your helath is in good condition

Minoxidil is a stimulant, works directly with the follicles.. finasteride is a DHT inhibitor (5AR suppressor). Completely different effects.

minoxidil supposedly increases the blood supply the the hair follicle. It's a blood pressure medicine, after all. Researcers have attempted to duplicate minoxidil's function with other BP medicines or other blood supply increasers to no avail. They really don't know EXACTLY how it works, only that it does. Well yes it is life long in that treating inflammation is an essential part of fighting male pattern baldness. Failing to do so will result in loss of hair in some fashion. So, assume that like the other treatments, any anti inflammatory shampoo only is effective as long as you are using it.

Make sense?
