How many of us have some form of "IBS"?

Have you had "IBS" os any kind of drop in digestive health since teens?

Just a quick thread and poll on this.

I think IBS is a huge, HUGE factor for male pattern baldness particularly if it starts over the age of about 21.

By "IBS" I also include people who have had increased bloating and gas since their teens or ANY kind of drop in digestive health.

I believe it creates a toxic body through an unhealthy number of toxins being released from the intestines.

Thanks guys,

Hoppi :)

My own anecdotal experience with people who claim they have IBS (all undiagnosed by a doctor) have all been panic-stricken, anxiety ridden, paranoid people who refuse to exercise and even though they think they're eating healthy, they aren't.

They are either obese or nearly anorexic.

I thought IBS was basically invented by the herbal quacks to liberate money from gullible fools.

IBS, like Adrenal Fatigue and a number of other conditions are basically names for a group of unexplainable symptoms that occur in a number of people. IBS has no cause, or more specifically, no physiological reason for the symptoms to occur, which is why it's generally considered a mental problem. Many people with anxiety and depressive disorders experience IBS symptoms (I did) but I don't personally really consider it a disorder. It’s basically putting a name to a group of symptoms you can’t diagnose, and then being able to say “I have IBSâ€. Now that people can say IBS, you have a group of nutjobs saying “I have the cure for IBS!â€

GeminiX, you are basically right. Everyone experiences unexplainable digestive disorders from time to time. Many naturopaths sell their snake oil solutions to these problems, when it's not something that needs to be cured in the first place.

I'm a strong believer that the mind manifests symptoms in people that experience these conditions. It usually goes hand in hand with some sort of mental disorder, usually anxiety or depression; something we all likely suffer from to some degree over our hair loss, so in that respect, I believe you are right Hoppi.

Some people swear by holistic and naturopathic medicine. I personally think holistic healing is simply ‘placebo effect’ healing. Not that the placebo effect doesn’t have profound effects..

Sorry, I actually use IBS because it's the term usually used in the medical profession. I agree that it's an awful umbrella term that covers liver, pancreas, intestinal and stomach disorders including dysbiosis, candida, parasites, deficiencies, infections, gut permeability, allergies, mucous and many more things. And no I didn't vote in my own poll because I only made this thread quickly and didn't think of it :)

By IBS I just meant long term stomach upset of some kind.
