So i'm new here. 29 year old male. I have had a high hairline my ENTIRE life, but am not balding or anything. I do however see quite a bit a of recession in my hairline and when i comb my hair back i can tell how truly deep it is (not one of these poster who is delusional and has great hair, don't worry), or if i get a bad haircut. howver, my hair is really quite thick. when i was a teenager i could sit in class and just brush my head and hair would fall out all over my book. i swear i could do that all day long and 1 out of every 3 times it would fall out.

my point is i use to think that i would be bald by the time i was 21 than 25 than 28 now i'm 29 and have thick hair though quite a HIGH hairline... i feel like i see hairs EVERYWHERE these days, in the most obsurdly random places (ON THE WALL!) and i have about an average of 30-40 hairs in shower drain, plus another 10 when i comb it out, plus who knows how many through out the day.

i'm hesitant to begin any regime, because I don't know if i REALLY need to, but i think about it enough that i want to. also, i'm pretty embarassed cuz i live with my fiance. some days i think its bad, others i think, Man i'll have hair forever...i will definitly have a bad receding hair line at my most fortunate.

anyway, how many hairs should be in the sink?

thanks

There should be exactly 1637 hairs in the shower drain.

They say ppl lose on average 50-100 hairs per day.

Do you shower everyday??

30-40 in the shower might not be that much. 10 when combing is nothing.

After showering and combing I sometimes shake my head over a large sheet of white paper just to see how much hair is being shed.

all that matters is the ratio,my brother sheds about 300 hairs a day and has done all his life,my poor mother used to think a gorilla had slept in the bed,he is now 34 years old norwood 1 very thick hair,i on the other hand shed less than 50 a day and i am going bald.

so if you shed say 150 a day,you could be growing another 150
on the other hand if you shed 40 a day and grow 5 back, then your going bald

Body hair, including armpit, pubic, chest, leg, and arm hair also sheds.

That might throw your drain assessment off a tad.
