Took 1mg of finasteride for about a month and then 1.25 for the last week or so. In that time I have only woken up with one morning wood which was very weak which apparently is a pretty bad sign in terms of sexual problems, my libido sharply decreased, softer erections and weird jizz. I thought it was getting better especially one night when i had a little to drink and had a perfect erection and felt horny but never happened again. I don't know how long to try and ride it out to see if they disappear. I don't want the side effects to become permanent. Some people have told me to ride it out but how long before it will cause permanent damage? I'm almost ready to throw in the towel at this point.

I wouldn't really worry about morning wood, dude. I mean, I rarely wake up having a morning wood, but I have no troubles whatsoever having it up at 100% when so called for, and I also get turned on easy. (Like, from my girlfriend simply sitting on my lap - something I thought would not happen that often at 24). About the morning woods: I notice I get them when I wake up to an alarm clock and likely will be interrupted from deep sleep, but I don't get them when I just wake up normally, which is 99% of my days. (As I do some translating from my home and also have lectures during the afternoon/early evening only, which is lenient as hell on my sleeping).

Watery semen is also something that still affects me after nearly 14 months of finasteride-use, though the texture has become a bit better with the passage of time (compared to having just started finasteride), but I am not worried about that. What I do worry about is able to get hard when I want to be hard and actually having sexual desires. Those are still there, so some watery semen is "whatever" to me, as I know you can still conceive a baby with no problems on finasteride.

So with all this rambling in mind, you'll know your own body better than anyone else, but I would say observe it a bit, unless you are really worried about your erection quality. How's your diet? Amount of sleep? Stress levels? Any change from pre-finasteride times?

I pretty much got morning wood almost every morning before finasteride, so not having it at all now is pretty drastic change.
As for erection quality, I can get it up but never 100%, it's pretty soft and sometimes I have trouble keeping it at that probably because I don't feel horny or any sexual desire since being on finasteride.
I mean my diet is pretty ****ty but it was ****ty before finasteride. Still sleeping a lot and my stress levels are probably pretty high especially since experiencing side effects but which i know can affect libido and erections but that shouldn't have any affect on morning wood should it?
Initially I took finasteride for 3 days and stopped because instantly I had no morning wood and libido declined. A week later saw a dermatologist that told me it was probably all in my head and to take it for a lot more than three days, people here told me to ride it out and the sides wouldn't last long so i started taking it again. It's been a month and ten days and there's been no change. I'm thinking maybe riding it out until the end of the month and re-assess, maybe continue taking it for a third month but i don't know, man. I would have thought sides would have gone by now.

I did pick up smoking again to deal with my anxiety and stress around the time i started finasteride. Not sure if that means anything though.

Hair or morning wood? hair or morning wood? hair!

morning wood isn't the main thing I'm concerned about. What I'm mainly concerned about is that my libido dropped a lot, i have softer erections that are difficult to keep up and watery semen. I'm trying to figure out how long I should ride it out for. I think I'd rather my down stairs area work than hair.

Do every other day instead.

Yes you will.

EOD is technically lowering the dose.

Thanks, dude. Appreciate your help.
taking it eod, how long do you think it would take for the sides to start to go? I'm asking a lot of annoying questions lol but im just trying to sort of get an idea of what action i should take should the sides not go away in a few weeks-a month
