Hello all,
I have been a user of minoxidil (rogaine foam) for the past 2.5 years, however, I have now begun to lose ground with the foam as a stand alone agent.
I am meeting with my Derm this week to discuss getting on finasteride to slow this hair loss beast down.
From what I have read, finasteride works best to reverse/regrow miniaturized/recently lost hair only.
Any idea approx how long "recently lost" applies to? Even if i can regrow the hairs i have lost/miniaturized over the past six months to one year i would be ecstatic, as that is when things seem to have taken a turn for the worse.
Currently, my hairline is holding about NW2.5, however, crown has a smaller sized bald spot forming. BTW, age 26, hopefully my somewhat still youthful age can help enhance finasteride's results
As this potential for any regrowth/miniaturization reversal would be a possible deciding factor in my decision to get on/stay away from finasteride this week, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Fingers crossed that i have not waited too long to get on finasteride, and their is some hope to salvage some of this past years losses.:sobbing:
Cheers,
Dan
