I need to stop taking dutasteride for a wee while (3 weeks to a month perhaps), I need to eliminate it as a possible contributor to some gastrointestinal dramas I've been having.

How long can I stop taking it before any anti-hairloss effects it might having start to wear off? I know the half life is 5 weeks but what does this translate to in relation to DHT levels? I've got a feeling this question has been asked plenty of times before but I can't find any previous threads about it...

thanking in advance

  Jesus! I'm not an expert, but 5 weeks is A LONG TIME. The more I read about dutasteride, the more sceptical I become.

What's wrong with 5 weeks? It's actually useful in this case, he can't take pills right now and dutasteride is still doing it's work.
I think you need at least 2 months before dutasteride is fully out of the system (if taken ed , half life build up over time)

I've been taking it once every 3 days for the past week, and was on once every second day prior to that

I'm guessing that is going to make for a shorter half life?
