How does one apply minoxidil?

Hey all, Im new to this board and it is encouraging to read so many similar stories that have had so much success.

I have been using minoxidil 7% for 7 years now, and even though the hair stopped falling, it never actually grew new hears, and now it is thinning again. A went to visit a doctor and he told me that the way I was applying it was wrong, which was a contradiction to what Ive been told before.

Can anyone inform me the correct way to apply this solution?

I was advised that you needed to massage the scalp for 10 minutes, then apply 1ml with cotton bud, twice a day.

Now Im being told that the massaging of the scalp is not required, and NOT to use a cotton bud. To use a liquid dropper and use 2 ml at night and then just use the fingers slightly to spread it around.

Can anyone who is using this product please tell me what the correct application is?

You don't need to massage minoxidil on your scalp for 10 min. All you have to make sure is that the solution gets to the skin. Use your fingers to spread it around.

Massage gently onto scalp and that's it. Just as long as it makes contact with skin.

What massaging your scalp 10 min before applying the minoxidil? Do you just apply straight away cause i wastold to massage the scalp prior to application.
