Try to look up studies on how Estradiol relates to DHT rather than hairloss. This will give you the answers that you need.

The preponderance of the evidence seems to indicate that estrogen is good for human scalp hair, although I wouldn't say that it's a major factor.

Lets cut to the chase - Have you used it topically and has it helped?

An interesting fact about zinc and its possible link to hair loss.

-A natural substance known to control DHT is Zinc. However, zinc is also an aromatase inhibitor which indirectly increases testosterone. This can decrease the anti-dht effects. In fact, zinc is even recommended for low testosterone levels-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dihydrotestosterone

It appears zinc could very well either help or hurt your hair. I believe the role testosterone plays in male pattern baldness is greatly misunderstood by the scientific community and unfortunately minimized. In susceptible individuals, testosterone could be just as damaging to hair as dht.

I think you would have to take a large dose of zinc to help in this direction.
However taking a daily dose is fine - the dosage dependent on your lifestyle. ie if you have regular sexual activity - double your dosage on those days.

I've never used topical estrogen.
