How does caffeine interfere with minoxidil's effectiveness?

I don't know if this is the right answer, however, caffeine constricts blood vessels and I would assume minoxidil dilates them. To me it would seem to cancel each other out.

John, you ask a lot of questions that connects to your concern about Revita. Just use Nizoral and add the ingredients you feel positive about. You need to know that there is no real rule in hairloss, something work, something COULD work, something don't work. There are some proven treatments and others that have been shown to be effective.

You need to learn to use the search button. Most ingredients in hair loss treatments have usually been discussed in some posts by experienced users.

Yeah, that's true. Sorry, I do search alot but rarely find the answers to my questions.
Do you recommend nizoral 1 or 2 %?

2% could be better in the longrun, but 1% is less harsh on the scalp and would be a lot better on the scalp to use 2-3times a week. 6 months studies show that their is not much difference in 1-2% keto/nizoral. Just do a fast prewash with a cheap shampoo, let the nizoral soak on your scalp for 5-10min and use a good conditioner like jasons tea tree og nano conditioner.

Awesome, thanks. I want to add Rogaine too to try and bring my hairline back up. How effective is minoxidil in doing so, and would you recommend regular or foam?

I don't know. I only use Proxiphen(prescription version with minoxidil and spironolactone, and probably the best longtime topical for growth, but expensive)/Prox-n up on top. minoxidil often gives good results for some time, but if one is not on an antiandrogen like finasteride/topical spironolactone and so on, one would just give the hair one more cycle of growth. The front is hard to regrow, but minoxidil could thicken it up a little, and the less time it is since the hair is lost, the greater the chance of growing something. minoxidil is somewhat dosedependent, thats why people on xandrox/minoxidil 15% often have good results, but its really hard to know how long they have success. I really hope people on it have success for a long time, but I think they could have a rapid loss of hair in 5-8 years. By then one would hope there is some better treatments.

Many people talk negative about minoxidil, but it is one of the best regrowthers out there, and many of the people that are bitching about minoxidil are people that have a shed after 1 month and stop using it. They should read up on shedding. There are no real wonderdrugs available for hair loss yet, so one must take what one could get. I have many times thought about adding minoxidil, but 2 times a day seems a hassle, one time a day with proxiphen is a hassle enough, but it at least have a more longtime effect than minoxidil. Using minoxidil is a personal choice, you have to decide yourself.

Sorry about the sloppy answer.

It's been about 2 years that the hairline has been receded and maintained for the most part on finasteride. I just, like you didn't want to hassle with it but now I am considering jumping back on with minoxidil and adding nizoral. So you suggest using spironolactone or something or else I will get only 1 cycle out of minoxidil? Which is better, liquid or foam? And what conditioner/shampoo should I use in my "nizoral sandwich"?

Dr Proctor says one could regrow something that have been lost for 5 years, but the front is difference since the AR receptors up front are "more" sensitive than in the back, so its "easier" to regrow in the back than in the front.

Adding nizoral is a no brainer if you scalp don't get irritated. Keto helps with the inflammation on the scalp and somewhat against the immune response of MBP. I never had any itch with nizoral 1%, but I only use it 2-3 a week with conditioner. You could use Body Shop Ginger Shampoo with P-O that have similar results to keto, P-O and keto is similar in effect. I personaly use Nano conditioner because of the added SOD and the good ingredients. You could add lavender oil in your conditioner. What you should add is a personal choice, if you have been using finasteride for over 6-12months minoxidil should in theory not cause any bad change, but whats reality no one knows. spironolactone would be for maintenance but finasteride/spironolactone combo are often a good combo for maintenance. minoxidil 5% is 5%, but their is a difference in quantity, if you use the recommended dose you get the same dose. Foam is better in studies, only because the delivery vehicle in the foam is more effective in the liquid. Those idiots on this forums saying anything else seems to always be people that have been using liquid and switched to the foam and had a shed. It could be some absorption change, but I really don't know. I'm just tired of uneducated people that spam the forum, most newbies get the impression that liquid is so much better just become a gang of 5-10 spam all minoxidil post. I would only guess that if you start foam, stick with foam and same with liqiud.

If you can afford it and think 100$ a month is "ok" to spend on Proxiphen, I would choose it because its so easy to use. it has spironolactone, sod, cp, minoxidil and other ingredients. Dr Proctor is a balding PhD that somewhat uses his PhD to treat his own hairloss and helps others in the making. For me it's a little funny that Dr. P has a full head of hair and Dr. Pickart is a real cueball, but nothing bad said about Dr. Pickart.

Or else you could use some type of minoxidil(foam is easier to apply) together with Prox-n because prox-n helps scalp health and would help minoxidil, 2months dose of prox-n used everyday last almost 5-6months.

But again, what to you should use is something you need to figure out on your on, just read up.
