Especially to those my age - in their 20's.

Surely whether your dad is bald or not, it's a very embarrasing subject that must make you cringe to death? :freaked2:

The thing that angers me about hairloss is people seem to draw confidence from your misfortune. This fact is really getting to me, so the sooner this year of propecia & minoxidil testing is up, the better.

Ive been using minoxidil on my hair since May 9th this year, twice a day.

Last night & this morning is the 1st time Ive skipped a dose, because i have to have half-decent hair for at least 1 day. Instead of applying it to the crown, I skipped a dose, just applying it to the hairline. Ive used the stuff 2 months and 4 days solid, since last night where I broke the pattern. I just need a break fom this sh*t, which makes my hair look like f*****g crap. I'll start again tonight. 8O

Finally, if someone said I'd be going through this 2 years ago I wouldnt of believed them. It's just the shock, of how things have I have fallen from grace because of this.

I know....

*cue violins*

But the whole process of having to "regrow" hair is f*****g depressing.
Especially, when you had great hair 2 years ago today. 2001.

All of what you have said is true and it is a pain in the assl

However, repeat after me--"It is what it is! Just stay the course,

Say this every day for 100 days and you will be over the hump!

Good luck!

My father loves to point it out to me. So do a lot of people.

I don't get it. It's not fun to talk about. No one ever gives me credit for the regrowth, though - they're just like "what happened? Are you wearing that concealer spray stuff?" No dumbass, unlike you, I'm capable of maintaining the discipline necessary to improve my appearance. Generally I have to bust out the photos to prove my point.

Anyway, my dad began losing at 18 and was a N7 at 21. He's actually a very interesting case, as he was born 4 months premature with cerebral palsy and needed testosterone injections. I wonder if that had anything to do with his rapid and early hair loss?

But yeah, I don't like to talk about it in general.

It is the hardest thing in life when we as children, regardless or our age, fail to receive support and understanding from our parents. As teens, we don't recognize and see that our parents can be as self absorbed as they really are. As young adults learning to take on the responsibilities of jobs families and mortgages, it becomes apparent that some parents see it as a competition and don't want you to "beat" them.

When you do grow beyond them - no matter what the area - the roles can sometimes reverse themselves. The child becomes the parent and the parent becomes the 15 year old irrational teen.

It's happening to my lovely wife. All she ever wanted was love and acceptance from her mother and all she ever gets is a constant browbeating in the form of criticism about her parenting skills. My god, she's 37 years old and quite capable...."stop taking your frustrations for your own misery out on your daughter and learn to be supportive there MIL!"

Anyway, the point is: at some point you just end doing things for yourself and not worrying what other people think - no matter who they are. It's not that you won't care about them, it's just ceases to be so important to gain their acceptance.

I mention it to everyone so they don't even have a chance to bring it up. And if they start making jokes about me losing my hair I get out my trusty crowbar and beat the living hell out of them.
