How Did You Feel About Losing Your Hair And Going Bald...

Hello guys, I've been a lurker for sometime now and will finally like to post here.

So this is about how you felt about your hair loss and going bald. About when you found out you had male pattern baldness.
Did you care a lot and get a bit depressed or just accepted it? Did you take measures to prevent it, still are or didn't want to.

Here's my side,

Firstly I'm sure we all rather have hair than not. This is no brainer even for those who are bald right now.

At first, losing my hair was like a part of me dying. I've always had long hair since I was a young kid(think Kurt Cobain). There isn't a time I remember or anyone I know has seen me with short hair, let alone bald. So it was a big part of how I looked and identity. I'm 22 now and wouldn't have minded losing my hair in my 30's at all, but in my early 20's it was hard.

At first I was in denial. I was thinking it's something minor and it'll grow back.
Then I thought it was something wrong I was doing, like my diet or stress, after dealing with that I found out it wasn't the case the either.
Finally, accepted it as male pattern baldness. My loss followed a pattern from my temples.

There was no escaping over this. So after being depressed by this for a while I tried Rogaine, stopped after side effects and then got depressed again. I was lost for a while.

Finally after it all I said, just F--- it! F-- it all!

I've just come to accept it and let nature run its' course. Going bald isn't the end of the world. Surely not enough for one's mental health and happiness. If you're using products to maintain your hair then I'm all cool for that, but for me the trouble was too much due to the sides, especially the mental sides were not worth it.

I've come to the conclusion it's just hair I'm losing. There's people who are far worse off. Besides, if people are judging you for balding/being bald then they're petty and not worth your time. If you weren't bald then they'd find something else just as petty to judge you about, like your wealth, personal beliefs etc...

On a side note, Rogaine did wonders for me, but I'll leave this for another thread...

Anyways, I still have like 85-90% of my hair but the writing is on the wall on what's going to happen and I'm ready for it.
Looking back now I feel utterly stupid at how insecure I was over this thing. There is plenty stuff that I can better that's within my control. We all have greater qualities than our looks. I'm still bummed about it and would rather keep it, but better to let it go. I have relief now and will wait until I have to keep a shaved head forever lol. Just let it be.

So we're now done with this very cheesy and dull piece of mine, what about you guys.

I like the part where you mention that you started balding in your early twenties, all though you're currently 22. Then shortly after you conclude 'just F--- it! F-- it all!' while disclosing you still have 85-90% of your hair. Which I would imagine you to be around a NW2 if that, seeing as you mentioned your temples earlier.

It's easy to say all this when you virtually have no hair loss.

He does not know the curse of M. With the curse of M shaving head and buzzcut looks like sh*t. When it gets worse it starts looking like a pointing dick.

I look like f*****g Wayne Rooney before his transplant when I get a short haircut. I'm 23, buzzcuts, short hair never looks good on me. I had the curse of M since I was 17, thinning crown since I was 19. In a year or 2 I'll be dead, then it's either razor or hair system time for me. I survived all these years with combovers.

Just shave it off fam. It'll look too noticeable balding than having a shaved head. I'll do that when I get there.

the amount of cope OP is very unhealthy. you care, and once you visibly lose more hair, you'll care even more

Hopefully not. As I mentioned earlier, I do care but it's not worth stressing about.

Better accept what it is and move on.

I'm past that phase now and it's for the better.

You're slybaldguys agent, I guess :D.
Don't tell me what to do.
This is a forum for people seeking treatment, not bald person club, go back there.
Anyways I'll see your reaction about shaving when you lose all of your temples and how different it will be :D.

It's called hair loss talk.

You could use treatment for that poor self-esteem.

eh.

the moment you lose your temple points and your sides look like | instead of |> is when you start to get rekt.

I have seen many cases with guys who have a NW2 but still look fine because of there in-tact temple points

No I think you should shave it now! Live with it for a couple of months, look at yourself in the mirror every morning then come back to us with your opinion!

Buzz cut only works for people with uniform density.

Those with male pattern baldness and diffuse will always almost always look worse off. Either 0 guard or grow it out a little for the volume, and layer effect.
