How Bad Is My Crown Thinning? 24 Year Old Male

Hi everyone,

So I'm 24 and have been on finasteride for about a year since noticing my hair thinning a bit and the hairline receding too.

My hair certainly doesn't seem to have gotten visibly worse which is good. I've just been paranoid about my crown since I first saw it myself.

I'm not sure if the lighting makes it look worse or if it's a cowlick etc but it definitely seems thinner than the rest. Is Minoxidil worth trying?

Normally people are more scared by finasteride but for me I'm worried about shedding from Minoxidil.

An objective assessment as to the hairloss would be appreciated!

definitely looks thinner on top. i would try minoxidil.

looks pretty damn good, still got full terminal hairs on the crown. definitely not in danger of becoming a "bald spot" as long as you stay on top of it.

Most people probably won't even notice. It looks like ur hair is oily or there is product in the hair in all ur pics. If you have freshly washed and dried hair it will probably look even better

Should I reasonably expect Minoxidil to improve things?

Am I right in saying that finasteride will help to stop things getting worse and Minoxidil won't? In other words, not Minoxidil won't affect the balding process like finasteride?

I think it does look a lot better when it's just washed Sometimes I'm not sure if the lighting makes things worse, too

You look just like me at 24. You can check my recent thread for how I look now, I am 2 months away from 29. I am starting finastaride tonight, at the very least do yourself a favor and add in Nizoral, also be sure to put the minoxidil all over the head not just on the vertex. Good luck.
