Hi, fellow members. I'm extremely new to this forum and am looking for friendly advice as I suppose is everybody else. Before anything, I'd like to courteously thank in advance any help you may provide and firmly state I welcome any criticism and education on the proper ways of using these forum pages. Anyway, without much further ado, the thing is I'm 22 and have only quite recently realized my hair's becoming remarkably thin and showing some scalp spots. As soon as I became aware of this there was little or no doubt in my mind that it was much probably a case of androgenetic alopecia as seen that there is ample manifestation of this condition in both my family trees (father and mother). My only brother, who is only two years older than myself, has already gone almost completely bald, although I must point out he was peculiarly negligent and did not take any measures as to treat his baldness. As for myself, I cannot say for sure as for how long this condition has already been manifesting, but looking back on some recent photos, it does seem likely that maybe it has been going on for at least one year. My dermatologist has instructed me to apply minoxidil ( in spray form) once a day (which bugs me because everywhere in the internet it IS repeteadly recommended ir should be administered to the scalp twice everyday) and I've also been taking finasteride (1 mg per day) and vitamin supplements (biotin mostly). I've been lately quite a bit overstressed for I've always been fond of my hair( however untidy or weirdly combed it may be) and honestly can't seem to get these baldness thoughts off my head. Please can anyone give me advice? Or maybe just some cheery words? I'll try to post some photos so you can tell me how BAD YOU think it looks. Thank you
