Im having some trouble on Propecia, but not your typical problems... Zero ed, no depression\anxiety and so on but it is causing me prostatis like symptoms ugh! Lowering my dose has helped but has not totally fixed the problem. Its become my obsession to unlock the answers ,because just giving up Propecia is unacceptable lol. Ok i dont think i have prostatis, i think i may have a hormonal imbalance causing me prostate issues. I take methadone, have for years. So my thinking... I have low testosterone(from methadone) this is for sure had it checked. now i add Propecia, in theory i have low or lower dht. So What's there to regulate estrogen levels? As excess estrogen can cause prostate issues. What do you guys think? Am i possibly on to something here? Any safe ways to reduce estrogen? And what do you guys think of every other day, or every 3rd day of Propecia for only maintenance? My hair responds wonderfully to Propecia gotta put our thinking caps on for this one lol

Also i go back the dr next Wednesday, up to now they given me zero diagnosis, they dont know. Only treatment was antibiotics...Lol it didn't work of course. Im gonna ask for a total hormone panel and see where everything is. Also any advice on boosting testosterone levels? I feel that could help balance everything out. Im already lowering methadone dose

Sonic,

There can be a lot of threads here, and sometimes people miss a thread. It can also be that since nobody replied to your thread in the first two hours, your thread fell to page 2, at which point everybody might miss it.

Now, my own response: I don't know. Here are some thoughts though. I don't know what methadone does, nor how it would mesh with propecia. It sounds like you want to increase your testosterone levels though. Ways to do this include:
1) Zinc supplements before sleep;
2) Low carb, high protein, high fat diet;
3) Cut body fat;
4) Weight training, particularly legs, lower repetitions at higher weights;
5) For your cardio exercise, do HIIT, not LISS;
6) Significant change to your hormone levels can take a few months ... all of the suggestions I make in points #1-5 take a while to have an effect.

Separately, what dose of propecia are you taking? And don't be afraid to talk to a different doctor.

hey man. yeah i was just being goofy talking to myself lol. Well as far as methadone and Propecia i was Good for the first month. I was cutting proscar into 1 mg daily. I felt great and hair just got healthier fast! I was so happy. Then i started getting this pain and pressure right under the base of my penis and sometimes it would cause lower stomach cramps.(about 5 weeks in) Its a deep, sickly almost inflamed feeling underneath. Weird to say the least. Monday i started Propecia and tried .5 and .25 same pain but less intense. I skipped yesterday and pain was almost gone, Now its back but less intense. I was gonna dose tonight but im thinking im gonna wait until the pain is totally gone. What sucks is my hair was getting so much better really fast im early in hair loss, prob norwood 1.5 but i have baby fine straight hair my whole life. So a lil loss is very noticeable at least to me. Propecia really just strengthened my hair amazingly so far. Im scared im gonna shed or lose the benefit if i dont dose soon, but this feeling is not right or healthy, also it was making me feel like i had to pee, even tho i didn't. This just sucks. I finally get the courage to use Propecia after 2 years and this happens, thanks for replying and for any advice

Also methadone really kills testosterone levels. I had my t checked and it was really really low like 167 total and 17 free! Just crazy. My dr didn't put in for dht levels...Lol i just assumed that would be included. Now somehow i felt fine like this. Zero ed or any glaring symptoms of low t before this pain or since

Man I don't think propecia is lowering your T levels, you might have something else going on that needs to be addressed.

no its not, methadone is lowering t. And Propecia is just kinda poison. I believe everyone on Propecia help and so should everyone else. Well some of the things Could be manifested in the mind especially ed. But after what ive gone through i have unique perspective. First month loved Propecia it was a god send, second month hair still improving but its starts to kill me. All this with with zero ed. This stuff causes side effects and is different for every person
