All of a sudden I'm shedding like crazy and even seeing some dandruff. Wtf is going on here? Is this normal?

I had a crazy shed at around 3-5 months, then it stopped a bit, now it's seriously worse than ever.

whats ur finasteride dosage, honestly finasteride should stop u from shedding bad, it might just be finasteride isnt working for u and the dht is still doing damage

Get in line man. Mine was in month 4/5. Terrible shed that nearly destroyed the front hairline. I've stopped finasteride now. The damage has been done.

Is there any shed in the front? Have you seen a change to your hairline?

But what choice did I have? Months 1-3 were fine but months 4/5 were dreadful. My front hairline took a hit receding further back. I panicked and didn't want to lose more. I have photos too just got to get around to posting them.

Maybe its the generic finasteride I'm using. I buy it local but its made in turkey. Might try Mercks propecia instead.

Riding out the shed. It's quite common for the meds to make you bounce a bit. For instance, I got insane regrowth on minoxidil then shedded like 40-60% of my gains during my huge 2nd shed, only to bounce back even stronger than before. I know we're talking about finasteride in here and not Min, but shedding happens on both. It sucks *** but is what it is.

Shedding does not equal miniaturization or progression of male pattern baldness. It is impossible for finasteride to make your hair loss worse long term. finasteride causes temporary shedding in the first 6 months in many people. Considering all those things it was really, really dumb to stop

why the **** would finasteride make you shed hair?

it cutts down the level of DHT in ur body, so LESS DHT means less DHT attacing the hair follice

This fina shedding threads are no sense, ok can happen because so many people experienced it but the trials never documented shed and i never seen real pics, just people freaking out, at this point i don't believe them anymore, post pics with a visible shed like minoxidil and then we can talk

Yeah that's what I don't get as well. It was never documented in clinical trials but whenever someone opens a thread about shedding, the immediate response is "shedding is normal, it gets worse before it gets better, stick on it for 1 yr"

If finasteride doesn't cause shedding, then it has sped up my hair loss by about 10x.

shedding at 8-10 month mark is common while on finasteride, however shouldnt make your hair worse
