WOW...and I THOUGHT finasteride DOESNT have bad effects on libido...i mean I had no troubles and in fact had a short lived boost in libido...but you sort of "get into tune with it" and you dont realize it...its similar to drinking...you're in your own body and you really externally can't judge whether you're drunk...but anyways the point is my propecia ran out and i cant get any for 1.5 weeks or so...OMFG...last 3 days MY SEX DRIVE IS OFF THE ROOF!!! Morning wood 100x harder than before, im popping stiffies @ almost anything with an ***! it's like my teen horniness has sprung back explosively...I think this is enough proof that finasteride kills sex drive in the sense it may not devestate it into nothingness, but regardless I think it does have some effect...try an experiment guys go off propecia for 2 weeks and see what happens.

I had the same thing, i ran out of finasteride for 9 days, my erections were so hard i thought the pressure was going to rip my c*** open, i was at it 3-4 times a day.

damn right finasteride can influence sex-drive!

maybe it's true that only 2% in the studies reported reported side-effect while there on finasteride for over a year, but i wonder if the whole group did quit and reported side effects after 2 weeks without finasteride...i think it's close to 50% who will report side-effects!!

It could mean that finasteride is making your sex drive decreased, and you're just used to it, but this is not the only explanation.

Your sex drive might have normalised on finasteride after a while, and then going off finasteride made it go much higher than usual. This does not prove that had you not taken finasteride, your sex drive would usually be this high.

In my opinion since finasteride has such an effect on your hormones they're probably just fluctuating, so don't feel like you're missing out

Yeah I think it was the dramatci change in hormone levels that gave you the boost. Likely in a few more weeks you would be much closer to your finasteride normal. Just like most people get the finasteride sides the first week, then it mostly returns to normal.

Im not saying your sex drive wont be higher off finasteride, it probably will be, but after re-normalization I doubt the difference will be so profound.

My experience on finasteride has been lower sex drive but at times it comes back strong all of a sudden. Its weird, kind of comes and goes in waves. But yes, I would say finasteride defenitly affects sex drive. I dont care what Merck studies show.

Very well said Felk. I totally agree with your post. One should not jump to conclusions until ones body has had a few months to 'adjust'.
