Been on Propecia for a little over 3 months and along with the zits Ive been getting, I have been keeping track of all my lifts at the gym and they are going up, big time. I was pressing 105 pound dumbells for 8 reps. I was struggling with 90's a month ago. Leg pressing, 540 pounds for 6 reps. My body weight is creeping up also. This is nuts!

There is no doubt my testosterone levels are going up. Im going to go in for a blood test next week, I'll keep everyone informed. I'm kinda worried about the side effects of a prolonged increase in test levels.

this will probably change once your body gets adjusted. estrogen WILL slowly increase. Count on that

I would be too. I think things will probably stabilise at an acceptable level over time, so be patient. If not, there is always an open slot for you on the East German female shot put squad.

why would a side effect of propecia be increased estrogen or effect his weight lifting? it only decreases the amount free testosterone mixing with dht, which produce the dreaded erection problems/ejaculate power

well..if you go to the gym daily, you get stronger.. duh. it has nothing to do with what you mentioned. i'm been going to the gym for three years and now bench 10 sets of 240. if i stopped for a month. i wouldn't be able to even bench 10 sets of 150.. but if you do it everyday you'll maintain it or do more the next week or two. you have to keep your muscles active.. keep taking propecia and don't go to the gym for one month and i guarantee you won't be as strong

As a certified personal trainer I have to disagree with your statements bush. That is an awful lot of weight to be adding in less than a month. Even the real stuff Test Cyponate or Ethinate or Sustenon 250 would not give strength gains that fast. Its in your head man, either that or its all the extra pot you been smoking.

Maybe body builders like myself should switch to large doses of propecia for our mucslce building stacks?

jesus, how many people here have we seen have high E levels from this stuff? Tons. So you're telling me taking a pill everyday (for 2 years) to keep DHT levels down, will not have an effect on estrogen levels? Messing with your hormones is one of the stupidest things you can do. Especially for prologned periods. Then you get off the stuff and booom you lose it again. You can't take this stuff forever ya know. As hopewas has said in the past, most of you on the stuff are still bald anyway.

Redbone, I dont appreciate your sarcastic attitude, Im not a moron man. Im in the porcess of getting my personal training certificate right now too, that doesnt mean that the learning stops once you get your certificate. You only have half a story and you jumped on it and are now trying to discredit me. Not a good attitude to have, especially for a personal trainer.

Anyway, I have gotten back into the habit of writting all my lifts, all my food intake down in a journal just this past month. I have made it my goal to add 5 pounds a week and maintain all my sets and rep counts during that time. My caloric intake has never been higher, (between 4000-4300 calories a day, I eat over 350 grams of protien a day, fats and carbs I manipulate as needed.)

All those factors combined with the use of Propecia, (which has been proven to raise testosterone levels) has given me a BIG boost in all my lifts including my own bodyweight, which has jumped 7 pounds since the 3rd of November.

You should know by now, that it is very possible to add 15 lbs to lifts in a period of a month, if one pools all their resources together for a period of time. Then a person platues for a period of time. That is how the training cycle works, HOWEVER I was just commenting that this particualr strength and weight increase is more dramatic than I have ever experienced since weight training without the use of anabolics. Plus Ive been getting huge honker zits all over my back, neck and back of arms, the same places I break out when I juice.

I dont know about you, but my last cycle of 500 mg aweek Sust and 200 mg Deca along with 30 mg DBol a day made me grow in places I didnt know I had! The strength and size gains were just incredible, hardly describable in words. I guess my body is extremely sensitive to the sh*t and extremely sensitive to one of the side effects of finasteride.

Lose the cheech and Chong stereotyping too. Some stoners can be and are productive people.

Oh, don't worry about that. Eventually your liver will catch up and start metabolizing that extra testosterone into Estrogen. Then you'll get to deal with a whole new set of ... developments :) Extra testosterone doesn't hang around. Excess estrogen does.

You should be fine. The endocrine system will over compensate and undercompensate where necessary until equilibrium is reached again. Until then there will be really wet spells and dry spells both with libido, strength, testosterone, estrogen, etc.

Thats a shame as I am really enjoying the way things are going in the gym as well as an overall feeling of well being. I dont wanna crash, wahhh. lol

Anyway, thanks for the input.

Look at it this way. You're building more muscle fiber with the help of the increased testosterone. That wont go away. So maximize now and if you hit a dry spell, you should be a step up higher than you would have been without Propecia. Continue to build from there with a little harder work.

Bush your post just sounds crazy to me, I never heard of anyone gaining strength and muscle from Propecia and I have been in the gym for a long time. I am not discrediting you but your statements are hard to believe I have never heard this.

For the record if you are trying to become a certified personal trainer drop the use of roids, it is unethical in our practice unless your a competitive body builder.

i think your misunderstanding what i was trying to say. I didnt say that Propecia was the only thing responsable for making these gains. What I was saying is, the Propecia is helping make these gains possible at a much faster rate than normal, due to the effects of DHT inhibition. ie: test increase

Wether steroids should be used by anyone is open to debate and will always have people with opposing views.
