I'm a full 6 months in on big3, and I'm wondering if anyone has filled in their crown, especially if you are older...

I turned 38 recently and I've been 5 years on minoxidil and about 14 months on finasteride and my crown is still slowly improving. It's worse than yours actually, but every few months I seem to notice more thickening around the fringes as if some of the ever present peachfuzz has finally gone terminal. You could very well have a good way to go before the improvements stop.

its good to see your progress klink. I wish the crown could fill in more for me too. I had been on finasteride for 9 years with no complete fill in and then now dutasteride for 9 months. Still slowly improving i suppose, but its still not quite there and I don't know if it will ever be.

Have you considered a transplant? Your donor hair looks strong and I think if you went to Armani he could get you back to Norwood 2, maybe even 1.

I'm probably a great transplant candidate because my hair is very thick in back and my hairloss has been reversed (a bit). But I'm happy with where I am at, and don't want to get a hair transplant or use concealers. Actually I comb forward, which is popular anyway, and the crown is not anywhere as bad as it looks with the flash. Actually it looks pretty good. I can tell I have regrown hair, and the older hair looks better and thicker, since the top filled in a bit and the crown thin spot is narrower. Look at my 7.14.07 pics I included side shots from each side... looks good.

I am not going to change anything for the entire year, 6 months to go, and then will evaluate. I don't know anything about spironolactone but I heard it's pretty good.

Nice improvements on the crown. It could get better, but I'd still be happy with what you have now if I were you.

I think I'm one the few whose crown has gotten worse but everything else has gotten better. And these meds are supposed to work best on the crown, go figure.

I think I am actually having a shed/shockloss on the crown from massaging in the foam, I used to just rub it in fast like styling mousse. So I'll know in the next few weeks if it comes in thicker or not.

And I am definitely happy from the progress I made, I'm still looking for pics from 2005 and 2006 that show how much hair I had lost.
