High And Tight Cut On Thinning Hair?

As the title suggests, my hair is going quite thin on top and its at the point where you can see the scalp quite easily if you look (mainly when I'm under a light) - its not so bad when I let it get a little longer

At the moment I have a bit of a quiff going on, but I have been thinking of just clipping it pretty short in the style of a high and tight, kinda like Jake Gyllenhal's hair in the movie Southpaw

Will this make thinning hair look a little better/more even as its shorter or just highlight the problem further though and make the hair look patchy?

Looks like you have the Friar Tuck inspired baldness going on.

Get a high fade, with a very short crew cut/butch cut

I mean your hairline still has a little bit of density.
