Hi all, I'm a newbie to the site. I'm 23 years old and have started experiencing a noticeable patch on the top of my head. I'm also receeding on the sides a bit. My hair has always been quite thin and soft but its now unfortunately started getting comments from my friends, just about everytime I see them. I have never used any products and so have joined this discussion site to seek your opinions on what is best to use. From the research I've done, the Rogaine combined with Propecia looks like a possibility but what scares me is the initial 1-2 month shedding that people have been talking about with the Rogaine. Even if long term results were good, I don't think I could cope with that initial shedding. Could somebody help? Any feedback would be really appreciated. Thanks.

No pain, no gain. Some people don't even shed.
Your logic makes no sense.. you are going to keep losing your hair, but you won't do anything about it because of the "initial" shed that will go away after 2-3 months? Jump on finasteride/minoxidil combo asap.
