i have been on xandrox 15 for about 4 months only and i only apply it at nite. But i have a problem with facial hair. The solution has increased facial hair to a point where i cannot stand it. So i stopped as of the last week of april this year and its now been 4 weeks since i stopped it. My question is, how long will it take for my facial hair to return to baseline or go back to the way it was before?..

Don't worry about that. These facial hairs will soon shed .... and will be replaeced by healthy thickened and pigmented terminal facial hairs. This is only an aesthetical problem. Dangerous is the increased growth in your nose and in your ears - be careful to cut away these hairs regularly.

There have been several placebo-controlled studies that showed that minoxidil-induced grown facial hair is not reversible. Here is a photo taken during the clinical trial:

Note that it is today possible to transplant terminal facial hairs to balding areas of the scalp! You see that you can do a lot with your facial hairs.
Make sure to use a special facial hair shampoo in order to get the best out of it. Ask your hairstylist for styling tricks and a facial hair cut that fits your balding head.
But: Make sure that Xandrox doesn't come into your mouth since one shouldn't joke with terminal tongue hairs.

CF,

Bismarck is obviously kidding.
Were you applying the xandrox to your face?
If not, then that facial hair growth most likely doesn't have anything to do with the Xandrox. How old are you? If your in you teens or 20's maybe it's just your hormones going to work.

well

its simple, eversince i started using minoxidil, my facial hair has increased. my eyebrows got thicker. maybe it is dripping to my face when i sleep at nite, whatever the case is. My simple question is: Once i've stopped using minoxidil, will my facial hair return to baseline? and how long will it take? Please , can someone just answer this simple straightforward question. I didnt join or post this to get a run around answer or joke. I just want a simple and straight answer. If you cant answer, then please let someone who can answer answer it. Its frustrating when you try to get an answer and all you get is jibber jabber...THank you all.

Re: well

Hi!
Here is Bismarck again !!! Sorry, but I feel great this weekend.

I'll try to answer your questions:

Once i've stopped using minoxidil, will my facial hair return to baseline?

I think yes. Otherwise all the members here using minoxidil would be quite happy. The facial hair is likely to return to baseline aslike your head hair.

eversince i started using minoxidil, my facial hair has increased. my eyebrows got thicker. maybe it is dripping to my face when i sleep at nite, whatever the case is.

Perhaps the minoxidil dissolves in the skin or so. Or you do something with that when you're asleep. So try to apply it about 3 hours before going to bed.

Is your Xandrox-treatment succesful? I would not stop it just because of some facial hairs! You could also shave them or use that epil stuff.

Bismarck, you speak really good English. Even your use of idioms and figures of speech are impeccable. I'd think you were a natural born speaker from your contributions here.

Crossingfingers, increased facial hair is a very common side effect of minoxidil. It hit me hardest on the hairs on the back of my neck. One question I have to ask you is, how much minoxidil are you applying? Are you applying just 1ml, or more than 1ml. You do know that using more than 1ml increases the probability of facial hair thickening.

If it is getting really bad, then perhaps your first move would be to reduce your dosage, perhaps to .7ml instead of 1?

yeah i use about 1 ml. I just want to know if the increase in facial hair or thickening is reversable?..Its not permanent is it?
