Help with spironolactone application

I received my 5% spironolactone cream from Dr.Lee the other day. It's no problem applying to the bald spot on my crown, but how the hell can I apply it to the top of my head with diffuse thinning? Seems like I got it most of it on my hair and hardly any on the scalp...tried using a Q-Tip to spread it around some, but that didn't work to well. Any suggestions or should I just get the 2% liquid and go that route?

yeah i really think you need the 2% if your diffuse, the 5% for the hairline
i'm also in the diffuse boat...

Thanks for the reply....I figured the 2% would be the way to go. I almost ordered that instead of the 5% and now wish I had. Oh well, the 2% is pretty cheap, I guess I'll ad that to my next order.

Science_Jay,

I assume you are using 2% spironolactone from Dr. Lee, with the dauber bottle. I touch the affected areas of the scalp with the top end, enough to feel it is moistening as stated on the instructions. Is this what you do, and how much of the liquid should be applied?

I just received 2% spironolactone from Lee. I found it easy just to pry the dauber applicator off and transfer the solution to an old minoxidil bottle and use the dropper. Works for me.

I know I should try it myself, but is it easy to "pry" the dauber off the bottle? If so how, with your fingernails? I am trying to leave well enough alone, but I figure I could apply more liquid using the dropper approach.

Also, I apply minoxidil. by tapping the dropper on the scalp like a pen. Is this also an effective approach to applying the spironolactone solution? I think it should be.

Yeah...just take something sharp..small knife maybe..and wedge it under the first "ring" from the top and pry...should come right off. Personally I don't like the dauber at all for topicals, I prefer the dropper... maybe because I know just how much I'm using with it.
