Help needed with alternative products to finasteride/minoxidil

Hello, Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my post and help.

I'm 22 years old and have been noticing hair loss since I was 18. I think I am a diffuse thinner - ie my hairline has not receded much and I do not have bald spots but I have very thinning hair all over.

I have talked to my Doctor about the finasteride/Propecia and Rogaine/minoxidil but I am afraid to take them due to side effects. I want to try alternative products. I realise I should have made this thread 3 years ago, but I thought my hair loss was due to stress and it would come back after uni - that is not the case.

It's getting to a point that it is seriously affecting my confidence and I am at the point of entering depression. I want to stop my hair loss and regrow what I can.

The products I am considering for my regime (all topical) are the following

1. Tricomin - Hair Growth Stimulator (alternative to minoxidil)
2. Renegepure DR Shampoo (1% Ketoconazole once every 3 days)
3. Revivogen Spray - DHT Inhibitor + Possibly, ie not sure if required - S5 Cream ? (Alternative to finasteride)

I realise I also need an everyday shampoo and condition to go along with everything but I don't know which to use out of the following

1. Renegepure NT Shampoo - I am leaning towards this option but will the shampoo alone suffice or will I need a condition with it? If so which condition should I buy?

2. Revivogen Shampoo and Conditioner

3. Tricomin Shampoo and Conditioner

Help is very appreciated. :) I have spent ages researching but feel like I'm going in circles.

I look forward to learning and sharing in this community.

Thanks!

Nothing comes close to minoxidil and finasteride. In my experience revivogen is weak at best and a waste of money, tricomin is simply a good hair conditioning product and will not tackle the root cause of baldness.

Thanks for your reply, I'll have to think about trying minoxidil and finasteride. Even if sides are rare. I read that minoxidil grows brittle and not good quality hair? I know tricomin isn't a DHT inhibitor but it is advertised to be a growth stimulant.

If I were to go either product, which shampoo and conditioner would your recommend?

Nothing comes close?

How about dutasteride? How about spironolactone?

They aren't licensed for use for hair loss though. The OP states he is fearful of sides, so dutasteride and spironolactone are unlikely to be suitable.

I think at the moment I could try minoxidil as It doesn't seem to have many side effects. I still prefer to stay away from finasteride. So I will need something that is a DHT inhibitor like finasteride.. all I can think of is Revivo and S5.. Is there another product I'm missing that could fill in finasteride's role?

Anyone?

Also what shampoo and conditioner is recommended? (Revivogen, Tricomin, Renegepure + Conditioner?)

Thanks for the help.

Tricomin is about as strong as 2% minoxidil when used in sufficient quantities

Thanks for your reply,

Anyone have comments on what shampoo and conditioner is recommended? (Revivogen or Tricomin or Renegepure + Conditioner?)

Also what is an alternative to finasteride (Revivogen or any other product I'm missing?)

Thanks

If you want to try out a shampoo I would go with nizoral preferrably the 2% kind. use it 2 mabe 3 days a week and leave in hair for approx. 5 min. If you want the one with 1% keto in it you can use it 3-4 days per week. However if you decide to go that route, it will be a good idea to get a good moisturizing conditioner, because nizoral may dry out you hair.

Yep going to get Nizoral. What shampoo and conditioner do you use on your off days?
