i'm 20 yrs old and losing hairs. It was very devastating when i first discovered tht i m balding ,i was not able to sleep properly for many days...now i have no social life , i dnt go out,dnt go to college coz everyone laughs at my condition....i think nothing is left in my life...I dnt want to go bald this early so i decided to give finasteride a try but it gave me side effects ..i also read many horror stories about finasteride. n decided to discontinue it... so i wanted to knw if i can do somthing for my hair without using finasteride...

First off, bro I know how you feel! Balding young is not funny, I am 16 atm and also struggling with hair loss and it destoyed my life. I used to be good with girls and was very social but my hairloss ruined it all. So I am trying to help others in this battle instead of killing myself.

I will give you just a list of possible treatments. If you are interested just look it up in the forum or internet where you can find a lot of information

Please note that some treatments can also cause sides and will probably give you sides because you experienced sides with finas, however aslways just try it out and see what happens.

Well here are some possible treatments:

1. Dutastride
2. topical spironolactone
3. oral spironolactone
4. topical ru58841
5. pgd2 inhabitator
6. ketoconazol
7. minoxidil

This are the one that I can come up with but if you want some more possible treatments just ask:).

Well to be honest if I were you I would check out topical ru58841 and a pgd2 inhabitator, since ru58841 is a great dht inhabitor and i heard succes with pgd2 blockers. Topical spironolactone is also safe but not a stand-alone just some more protection.

If you couldn't tolerate the side effects of finasteride, it's unlikely you'l be able to tolerate the side effects of dutasteride. And oral spironolactone is a bad idea to take without being under supervision of a professional.

For how long did you try finasteride by the way? It's honestly the best option.. It has tonnes of data from trials and it has no serious side effects. If you didn't give it a decent enough try then i'd suggest giving it another go and try to forget the fact you're taking it since a lot of sides are probably just psychosomatic, and a lot of people experience reduction or complete disappearance of side effects after they've been on it for a month.

Sometimes the sides disappear after some weeks.

Not really my dht levels are kinda high and yes I am afraid that after some years the power of finasteride will get weaker and your hair will start to fall again. However don't stop with the drug then because it will only get worse then.
