firstly let me introduce myself. sorry for my bad grammar. Firstly, I am an asian 23yrsold. I've been noticing a lot of hair fall this couple of weeks. Whenever I take shower, wash my hair, dry my hair. I can also see my hair all around my room. And this makes me freak out. SEcondly, My hair style is like an anime hairstyle or should i say some kind of asian pop superstar hairstyle. And I go to the salon once a month for treating my hair. Because my hair was dry and it was chemically treated. So Whenver I shampooed my hair it usually fall around an estimate 80 plus. I dont know if this is normal?? And drying my hair makes my hair fall around 15 plus and let say a couple of tweenties of hair falling out with my every day lifestyle so let say a total hair fall of 120 something in a day. Is this normal??? And even my baby hair are falling out too. because I can see it in my pillow whenever I wake up. is this normal too??? My only culprit of this is why happening is the salon. because the last time I went there is the chemicals to be put into my hair had touched my scalp. And as far as i know that should only be put on the hair. So I was asking the one who was putting some cream to my hair is "If this not harmfull to the scalp and that I might experiencing hair loss" and he said that it was ok. the only chemicals not to be put on the scalp are those hair straighteners. dyes. bleach, or perming. I dont know if this was true.??? do you think so?? so after couple of weeks I was experencing something on my scalp it was like something was going on there. I dont know If my scalp was hurt or something or I was just too paranoid to be noticing on that. I also seek help on my freinds asking for a referral on doctors and they always said to me that my hair was not thinning or I had lots of hair. Because I even manage to go to the salon to style it. so my question is
1. Is this a chemical trauma that I was shedding a lot? or it was just a normal hair loss?
2. If this was a chemical trauma. could my hair will grow after a week? or this is permanent hair loss that after a month I am already bald??
3. Or maybe this is a male pattern baldness am i experiencing?
4. If baby hair are falling out to or should I say a new grown hair were also falling out is this normal??

Thanks people for reading my story

Can you stop the chemical treatments? If yes, do. Reading your story, I think the first thing your scalp needs is a detox.

Post some good pictures. That will help. Losing 100 hair a day is supposed to be alright. I read that somewhere.

If you want adequate help, you'll have to post up a decent photo of your hair loss.

Going on what you've posted so far, 'paranoid_boy' seems an apt username.

Basically, no gunk or oils etc. just clean fresh hair for a few weeks, washed with a mild baby shampoo or neutrogena etc.

I have had the same experience happen to me around your age.

Believe me, I've done the same thing you did to your hair, all that chemical treatment, styling, etc.

I also started dropping tons and tons of hair -> this lasted 3-4 months. It left me with 50 percent coverage, but the hairs I lost did come back..only they came back slightly thinner. I didn't think I had male pattern baldness, and kept continuing on.

HUGE mistake.

Make sure you watch your hair over the next few months. I have no doubt the shedding will go away, but if you see that your hair is not returning, you should go see a dermatologist and check if you have male pattern baldness.
