Help! Drowning in dandruff!

I have a huge amount of dandruff on my temples and top,the areas where im losing hair.
I've used nizoral and it doesnt seem to help...Does brushing my hair help getting rid of dandruff? Does it damage the hairs?
What can I do to make the dandruff go away?? I bet it would be much easier to regrow if I had a clean scalp...plz help.
