This is my first post on the forums! I'll give a little introduction and then explain my dilemma.
2 years ago I started taking 1mg Fincar and 5% minoxidil because I was sick of my hair. I was thinning on the top and my hairline was receeding. I was 21 at the time. I'm now 23 and my hair is much better, it appears thicker and my hairline has gradually come back (no where near perfect but MUCH better). The only side effect I have experienced is the amount of ejaculation I produce - but it never really bothered me. I've been in a stable relationship and my erections have been fine.
So, onto my dilemma. When I looked into Fincar I did read up on the side effects, short term and long term. To some extent I just ignored the long term. After randomly reading up on them again 2 weeks ago, I decided I would come off the drug as I don't want to affect my chances of having a family later on in life - even if it's not even proven to have this disadvantage, I just don't want to risk it. So I stopped taking Fincar around 2 weeks ago, and have experienced no side effects. The reason I am writing this post is because I have done the stupid thing of googling "coming off propecia" and have now got stupid things in my head (mainly info off the side effects forum).
I've read that you should ween off the drug, but because I've been off it for 2 weeks it may cause more damage to go back onto it just to ween off. I'm also dreading the balding "catch up".
Does anyone have any past experience on this? Any comments will be muchly appreciated!
