hats, emus and rogaine foam.

I have a couple questions about applying minoxidil (rogaine foam)

1.If I am using emu oil, should I apply it before or after using rogaine, and how long before or after...right away a few minutes, an hour?

2. Would wearing a hat after applying rogaine cause a problem in its effectiveness?

EMU oil is absorbed into the scalp in minutes. The rest is apparently just residue.

Put EMU oil on your head before you shower (just ENOUGH to coat the scalp) and than shower after about 20 minutes to be sure, though I've heard most of it is absorbed within just a few minutes.

Than apply your foam after showering and put your cap on which wouldn't have any effect on the foam.

Are you doing EMU oil 2x or 3x/day?

thanks for the info fairtax, that helps out a lot! I'm using the emu oil 2X daily (mainly for scalp maintenance to prevent sores and scabs which i have been getting quite frequently.) should I go 3X?

If you can go 3x/day without any major inconvenience than sure go for it! 3x/day is what they did in the studies that showed EMU Oil grew hair.

Are you a diffuse thinner and putting the EMU Oil all over your scalp or are you just receding and put the EMU oil on the hairline? I'm diffuse so the afternoon application of EMU oil would be kinda difficult without getting it all over my hair. Unless maybe I used an eyedropper and just put a small bit in a select few places.

If you find an easy and convenient way to apply small amounts let me know.

Im diffuse....so I also have spread it all over my scalp. I have my hair buzzed really short so it isn't really too much of a problem. I didn't know emu oil was reported to actually grow hair, I thought it was for scalp maintenance and assistance with topicals. I think I will go three times a day and see what happens, Ill keep you updated and let you know how it turns out.

Im diffuse....so I also have spread it all over my scalp. I have my hair buzzed really short so it isn't really too much of a problem, I usually just drop it straight from the bottle onto my head, maybe like 7-10 good drops over my head and then massage them in. I'm not sure if thats too much or too little, I just started the emu oil a few days ago. I didn't know emu oil was reported to actually grow hair, I thought it was for scalp maintenance and assistance with topicals. I think I will go three times a day and see what happens, Ill keep you updated and let you know how it turns out.
