Has my Avodart been cooked in the heat?

I recently purchased some Avodart through the mail. The postman left them on top of my letterbox in the baking heat for a few hours before i realized they had been delivered (its summer here, usually in the late 30 degree/40 degree tempreture range each day) I'm wondering if these are still OK to take? Is there anyway i can tell if they have been compromised?

This happend to my Rogaine Foam once. During summer the bottles would get really hot and I was worried its effectivness was somehow being comprimised as you mentioned. So i actually wanted to put them in the fridge. But that is no good either apparently.

It should say on the packet what its temperature range is. Personally I think it will be fine. But dont quote me on that. But having said that it depends how much money is an issue to you, personally if i felt they were toally fried id just order some more.


Its up to you..

Personally I dont think its worth the risk if you think its been comprimised. Its ur freakin hair man! Once its gone its all over red rover.

i emailed the place i bought them from, they 'unofficially' told me that they should be OK as long as they are not melted....


oh well, can't afford to get anymore so i guess i will have to just put up with it. Time to order more rogaine soon as well and the weather looks like its not going to cool down anytime soon.

I've often wondered the same thing, how temp can affect meds. I could see it affecting topical meds, maybe by changing the balance of the formula.

I often leave my finasteride in my car overnight, and right now temps can get below freezing. I've worried about this at times, but then I can't really imagine how that could do any harm to pills in blister strips. There have also been times when I've kept my pills in my pocket, where it could potentially be very hot and/or moist.

dutasteride has a melting point of 246 Celsius so sitting in 40 degree weather for a time shouldnt harm it. The gelcaps exterior is another question but as the shop you bought from said if they didnt melt then the dutasteride inside couldnt leak out.
