Has Folligen Spray Become Weaker?

I have just got back to using Folligen a couple times a week for general scalp health. What I was surprised to find was that using Folligen without diluting didn't cause any scalp irratation whatsoever.

I remember using Folligen spray back in 2007-2008 and it used to sting if I didn't dilute it.

Any thoughts?

Your scalp may be irritated a lot less easily, maybe it's toughened up, i say this because i got some folligen back in jan and after two weeks of using that and nizoral my scalp was a burning hell.

Yeah I think you are right. My scalp my have toughened up. Well that not surprising due to the amount of crap I have put on my scalp over the years. :)

This thread caused me to do some serious research....so after an hour later...

first off that is a very reasonable assumption that your scalp has gotten used to folligen a bit.

However I think there is much more to it.

Dr Pickart ( who owns and invinted folligen)was often telling people back in the day to dilute folligen with distilled water since it was so concentrated. Even to use it only a few times a week.

Now the site instructs users to to use it daily

"
Apply a light amount of Folligen Therapy Spray on the scalp once a day or once every other day."

Interesting...

Also note that the price for an 8oz and a 2oz bottle is a combined package deal is $40.95 which struck me as odd because thats the same price it was since I started using in 2004. I even went so far as to find an old post of mine to double check...

So 7 years later and the price is the same along with instructions for daily use. So I would think the answer is yes it is weaker. What other product stays the same price after all this time? So I am thinking to make this product easier to use for consumers they eased up on the concentration which smoothed out any cost increases.

Yeah I too had my suspicions. I remember when I used to use it regularly I still noticed a bit of a stinging sensation on my scalp.

In addition, the way Folligen feels on my hair compared to a few years back has changed. I remember it being quite a nice styling aid, added a bit of texture to my hair. I am sure it takes a lot longer to dry as when applied as well.

Joshua, everytime I read your posts, I always hear Ron Swanson's voice reading them for me. One of the best character's in recent TV memory :)
