He's not talking about that or his own hair actually. He is saying that baby hairs in the front hide the hairline a bit. Yes, I sometimes ask my hairdresser to do that. It's probably natural not to have all the hairs in the hairline the same length and actually have a few really short ones as well. Probably a good trick that does make it a bit better.

When I was getting started I recall you use to get able to order custom pieces with "baby hairs" and scalloping; so as to break up a uniform front hair line - not something I have done or seen close up though
