Hamsters and mice

when they say they are bald...do they mean they don't have any hair there... or that they actually have andgrogenetic alopecia???? if the latter... how did they get it?

i don't think the hamsters have androgenic alopecia, i think they are just bred as bald hamsters through inbreeding. not 100 percent on that though.
