I've noticed that now that im using gel again, and hairspray again, that my head is itching alot worse. finasteride has made my scalp/face very dry, and nizoral made it worse. (nizoral didnt until finasteride)

I think the hairspray is now doing it as well? (noticed it has alchohol)Anyone know of a (non alch.) spray I could use that would hold good, and maybe moisturise as well? Maybe a stand-alone moisturiser?

I'd prefer to buy local, and in shame please..

All this make sense?

well i never used hairspray and im pretty sure that it does more damage to your hair than gel.

here try these.

Thermasilk (Heat Activated) Daily Conditioner with Thermal Beads: this stuffs great! leave on for 3 min then rinse it out. brush your hair towel dried. blowdry. it leaves your hair soft and smooth.

Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Weightless anti-frizz serum: this stuff is also great! pump around 3 pumps, one for your top, 2 for the each side and style it through your hair. unlike gel or spray, it is non-sticky and won't tangle or pull on your hair. after your done styling blowdry.

This stuff is great for a dry-styled, "messy hair" look.

Garnier Fructis Shake Effect Liqui-Gel: you said you like using spray... well this is a spray on gell and unlike gel or spray, it will not tangle or pull on your hairs while you are styling. the hold isnt very strong though but it works like gel without the stickyness. shake, spray on, and style.

hope this helped... oh and probably the best thing about Garnier Fructis products is its long-lasting great smell!

I already use the garnier shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair, but the gel I use is bedhead, and the spray VO5 leftover from my tramp of an ex.

(although spraying/smelling it does bring back some simpler times)

I have used system biolage gel before and the hold is incredible, plus you don't need spray. Only drawback is you have to style it quick. I do the "wet look" gel, so dry look wouldnt work. And, well you can re-adjust the hair if something musses it.

I guess I can see if the gel has alchohol, tynan and the others have said that alchohol-free gel is fine.

[off-topic]

Never thought I'd drop my obsession enough to actually worry about hair-car products like gel again.. feels good. It's screwed my shower count up though.

13 hairs monday on hands :p
