I've noticed than when pics of people are posted on HairLossTalk.com, either users or celebrities, with mild/borderline balding or recession alot of people go "only to the users of this site are they balding - noone on the street would ever tell". I personally think that's wrong, as the average person seems to be able to tell if someone' balding or not - even it it's mild. I think alot of people actually kind of get a kick out of looking at the young men they know and looking for signs of baldness sometimes. When I was 16 and had a full of head of hair, even though I didn't really care about baldness or make any negative judgements about it (it's only after I started to lose my own hair I began seeing it in a negative light, because I dislike looking at people who have similar flaws to me) I could readily tell when someone was going bald or not - indeed I falsely labeled any case of even a temple recession as balding, and I think alot of people assume a young man with a receding hairline is going bald. The term mature hairline is hardly commonly used is it? Young guys I know who display a receding hairline are termed "balding" by other peers, and it pisses me off how observant and critical the average person actually is of this.
