Hairloss on legs

Hi, So I've got male pattern baldness but what ive noticed over the last 8 months is that the hair around my shins on the outside of my legs has essentially all disappeared on both sides. It's smooth in comparison to the rest of my legs which are still hairy as hell. Any ideas as to what's going on?

The hair on the outside of my legs will dissapere and come back in cycles. It's for me due to friction of them rubbing against pants and what not.

I've had this problem after starting finasteride too. Though, I wear skinny jeans exclusively.

I have anxiety issues but i stay at home so they've been fine for the most part

I haven't really been wearing pants lately. Mostly shorts.
